Mills divided the participants into three groups according to the concentration troponin (less than 0.05 ng / ml, from 0.05 to 0.19 ng / ml, and more than 20 ng / ml). Looked at 2,092 patients and concluded that reducing the threshold to near the 0.05 ng / ml reduced the risk of death or stroke by 39 and 21 percent respectively.
